hi i'm anna.
Thanks for stopping by!
Maybe we have met before? I am that disheveled person you always see running around in paint splattered clothes with a coffee in one hand and a child in the other.
They say I started drawing before I started walking, but that may be an exaggeration. As soon as I did start walking though, I started traveling, sketchbook in hand. I have lived all over the place and my travels have infused my artwork with color and life. I specialize in mixed media, combining collage with gouache, watercolor, pencil and ink.
I met and married my husband in Jerusalem, Israel. I thought our wedding was a wonderful opportunity to create some love-inspired art, so I painted our ketubah, our invites, our thank you notes, and pretty much everything else that I possibly could for our wedding. Next thing I knew, other people started asking me to create artwork for their weddings. And that's how I became a ketubah artist. My specialty is creating modern, whimsical ketubot for contemporary couples who want to have a Jewish wedding with their own, unique style. I strive to create artwork that reflects each couple's unique taste while combining it with my artistic vision.
My artwork is influenced by many of the artists I love, including Egon Schiele, Lucian Freud, Francesco Clemente, Goya, and Noshitomo Nara. My favorite book is The History of Love, by Nicole Krauss. I live in Houston, Texas with my husband and daughter who inspire me every day.
